Hi there!

I’m a 20-something-year-old American who’s obsessed with travel, cheese, and Mariah Carey.

I grew up in Chicago, Illinois, which is a great city (you should go if you haven’t already!). However, I’ve always wanted to travel but lacked the courage to do so. I really wanted to experience another part of the world.

Last year I finally purchased a one-way airplane ticket to Australia and flew to the other side of the world on the work and holiday visa. It was possibly the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I had the chance to meet amazing people, experience a new country and culture and grow more in independence and self-confidence. Along the way, I’ve learned a ton about myself. For example, I suck as a budget traveler. And if given the opportunity, I will chase Mariah Carey’s car. And if you mess with me, I will throw a rubbish bin at you at 3 in the morning.

I lived and worked in Melbourne for the most part but had the opportunity to see quite a bit of Australia.

I haven’t really seen the East Coast yet (perhaps it’s too much of a party scene for me) and I haven’t been to Western Australia (though I heard Perth is really nice) but I’ve been to the major cities in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane). I’ve been to Tasmania (which I love!) and did a trip to the outback (which I didn’t love as much).

Travel has brought me all sorts of experiences and amazing people. It has taken me out of my comfort zone. I’ve gotten to learn about myself and the things I really want in life.

I’m so glad I took a chance on me. And I hope you take a chance on you.

I wasn’t kidding when I said that I am in love with Mariah Carey.

I also want to have Justin Timberlake’s babies (but that’s a whole different story).
