Greetings From New Zealand!
How did that happen, you may be thinking? Well, if you recall from my last blog post, I’m currently traveling with my Dad. And, well, our travel styles are a bit different.
OK, fine, our travel styles are really different.
I want to properly explore places, and my dad wants to me to stop traveling and get married. Or my second option is to get married and then travel with guy I marry. However, I think we’ve come to a compromise. I’m considering moving to New Zealand because I’ve fallen in love with it over the short time I’ve been here. OK, that’s not really a compromise, but who’s to say I can’t marry a country? No? Not an option. Eh, we’ll see.
Um, anyway. It turns out that traveling with your Dad isn’t as easy as it seems, especially when your Dad doesn’t tell you what he wants to do and you have to plan everything yourself, or in my case, everything myself and at the very last minute.
We’ve been traveling for about 2 weeks and have about 2 more to go. And I’m exhausted! Especially since I’m trying to plan everything as we go. We did a bit of Australia, and spent a few days in New Zealand (which I loved BTW and more on this in a later post), and tomorrow we head to Fiji. And I have absolutely no plans for Fiji what’s so ever. The main reason we’re going is because my Dad has a friend there he hasn’t seen for 30-something years and really wants to reconnect. But as far as touristy stuff goes, I didn’t plan anything, and perhaps I’ll figure it out when I get there. OR just lie around and do nothing. Time will tell.
Also, I have no energy to write anything on this blog even though I have about 64 billion things to tell you. Needless to say, I’m failing at my New Year goal. I’ve been spending my time traveling, researching things to do in New Zealand in a short time, and dragging a heavy suitcase up hills and stairs and things. And I’ve been feeling a bit guilty so I decided to write about how I’m too tired to write. And to share a few pictures from our NZ trip, because I’ve been taking a lot of pictures and I need to do something with them. Also, to make up for all the pictures I lost on my outback trip.
A few NZ pictures.
There you have it, a glimpse of my NZ trip with Dad. Now it’s time to take a nap. Or research Fiji. But mostly nap.
