Did you miss me? No? Well, fine. I didn’t miss you, either. Jerk.
I have a ton to write about what’s happening in my life at the moment and still a ton to tell you about my year abroad in Australia (and my side trips to Fiji and New Zealand!).
Since I haven’t written in awhile, I thought I’d, you know, write something.
Let’s start with how I was upset last Memorial Day weekend. Because of a boy who thought it would be OK to make plans with me and then blow me off. It kind of ruined my weekend. And that son of a bitch didn’t even have a good reason for why he decided to treat me like crap. And you know what the sad part is? I somehow ended up apologizing. How the hell did that happen, you might be wondering. I’m not exactly sure – probably because I sent a rude text message and then realized that I was just as wrong for doing so. Or maybe not.
Anyway, we are no longer on speaking terms and I was really down about it. And then I came to my senses when positive-ish things started happening later that week to turn my mood upside down.
Here’s a list of a few things that made me feel better last week and this weekend. Perhaps it was the universe’s way of telling me not to worry about that thoughtless and inconsiderate dude because chances are he’ll probably end up living in his mother’s basement when he turns 40-years-old. This boy is not worth listening to a Mariah Carey song over.
1. A very kind guy at my current place of work left the company but took the time to write me (and a handful of others) a note. How thoughtful for someone to hand write you a note.
2. I had an Oreo milkshake from Potbelly and it was AMAZING.
3. I started reading a book that I’ve been wanting to read for a long time.
4. I took a punching and kicking fitness class at my gym and I pretended that I was punching and kicking a certain someone in the face.
5. I got to connect one-on-one with the fitness instructor who taught that punching and kicking class and got to know her on a deeper level. I also told her that I want to be a writer.
6. When I got home that night, I checked my email and I was contacted for a writing opportunity.
7. This weekend was surprisingly quite productive.
8. I got to catch up with a lovely new friend.
9. We checked out the Millennium Art Festival.
10. And tried food at the Grand Lux for the first time.
I think the universe is coming around and starting to take my side this time.
Awesome about the writing opportunity! Congrats!

Thanks 🙂
You should come back to Australia! We don’t break plans as often!

Well, it wasn’t so much “breaking” plans but making plans and making me think the plans were still on and then completely forgetting about me.
I love how positive this is considering that was douchey move to cancel the last minute. (Yup, that also happened to me a few weekends ago.)
That mocha drink looks amazing btw.

Thanks, Ceri! And yes to the douchey move. But it wasn’t canceling at the last minute but more so keeping the plans and just not following though. So, YES, douchey move.
